We won!!!!!
Thank you to everyone who voted for us and helped us win GMINI Readers Awards as Best Wedding Photographer in Northern Ireland 2010/2011. This is the third time we have won this award and we are thrilled to receive this title this year again.
We knew we had reached the top 5 but the winner was not announced until Saturday night at the Gala Awards night. The event was held in the
Ramada hotel, Belfast . All the girls in the office met up at 2pm in the afternoon to get the party started. Brenda (my sister) came to do the hairs and
Kerry came to the make up. Marie Scott of
Marie Scott Events supplied champagne with gold bling in it (bit like Goldslanger only champagne mmmmmmm). As we were in the studio, we got a couple of pics taken before we left for. You probably speak to alot of the girls on the phone so here is their best shot so you can put a name to a face.
It was a huge celebration on the night as it is the 25th anniversary of the magazine
Getting Married in Northern Ireland so it was a mega glitzy affair. Sorry that I can't remember all the names of the acts playing but they were all managed by
Glen Houston Entertainment. There was a 3 piece funky wee act doing grease songs and dances which got the party started. We then walked into the room which was decorated beautifully in a black and white theme. We then had
james huish the swing singer entertain us throughout the meal. What a beautiful way to eat your meal. Then there was the awards. If you go onto the Getting married website above you will find out all the category winners. When it came to the photographers section, there were 5 finalists. In 3rd place was a girl I have never heard of before Erica Irvine (I think) and then in 2nd Place was the extremely talented
Ciaran ONeill.
A loud roar rose from our table when were announced overall winners.
We were presented with our award by the celebrity planner
Jane Dayus Hinch which was very funny as she had been in the studio only last week at our official launch and her introduction to Northern Ireland. Jane made a speech on the night and it looks like the camera crews are making their way to Northern Ireland to record an episode of SOS Weddings. Watch this space.
As you can imagine, when
backbeat the band came on, the celebrations started until the wee hours.
Once again, thanks to everyone who helped us win this title of Wedding Photographer of the Year. As we are also current Family Portrait photographers of the Year with the PPANI (professional photographers association Northern ireland) and have moved into our new state of the art studio this year, we think 2010 has been a fabulous year so far and long may it continue. thank you :-) thank you:-) thank you. :-)
